Children can begin water familiarisation programs from 6 months of age. Water familiarisation classes build confidence and introduce children to basic water safety. The water temperature should be at least 30 degress with air temperature ideally higher (therefore an indoor facility).
Water familiarisation is no substitute for adult supervision. Remember, always keep watch when children are in and around water. More on Supervising children
Learning to swim is a vital skill for all ages, especially children. Ensuring your child receives quality teaching is important - because learning to swim is a skill for life.
You are never too young or old to start or retrain.
Swim Schools must go through a comprehensive registration and safety audit process to become a Swim and Survive Partner. Swim Schools will be added once they have been approved by Royal Life Saving Society - Australia.
